From our base in Frankfurt, Germany, we design, build and ship PV measurement technology worldwide. We manufacture strictly in compliance with ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards. Our product portfolio ranges from advanced IV testers for the mass production of solar modules to solutions for the entire photovoltaic chain. All instruments are supplied with state-of-the-art halm software. Our in-house development ensures the seamless operation of the equipment and offers leading-edge data visualization, analysis, and monitoring.

halm – the story behind the name
Our company name is derived from the last names of our founders: H. Hellmann, H. Albert, A. Laux and A. Meixner. Four scientists who established the company in 1981 as an owner-run German technology company. Today the company is owned and run by brothers Moritz and Michael Meixner. Their strong affinity to Frankfurt ensures that R&D, sales and administration as well as in-house production will remain anchored in the Rhine-Main area in the future.

halm originally catered for several different sectors, including materials testing in the chemical, pharmaceutical and automotive industries, and also manufactured audio systems.
At the end of the 1990s, halm was one of the first German suppliers to enter the up-and-coming PV industry. With its IV tester for the production of solar cells and modules, the company soon captured a major share of the global market.
Today, halm can look back on more than 20 years of experience in PV measurement technology. The company is acknowledged internationally as a technology leader and one of the premium suppliers in this field.
All halm products are engineered and manufactured at the company's headquarters in Frankfurt, where about one-third of the employees are engaged in the development of state-of-the-art equipment and solutions.
